"What a fabulous week for us. The cottage stunning. The village smashing. The walks superb. To be honest the cottage was so cosy we did not go out. We dined in and settled in front of the log burner with a glass or two of wine after walking 10 miles each day. We have booked again for October half term and know we will find more walks. The Co-op is great, we also organised a Waitrose delivery from Buxton for the main things on our first day. The butcher does some brilliant fillet steak. It was cold, windy, frosty, sunny but I have never felt so refreshed. Nikki and John, great owners and I would be surprised if you found anything missing!!" February, 2016

"Wonderful cottage in full of charm and character. We were given a very warm welcome by Nikki and John. Plenty of country walks around and a warm log fire to return to. The perfect place for a relaxing group break." March, 2016

"Tideswell is a good location for walking, with sufficient shops, and a range of eateries and pubs to come back to and yet is close enough to Buxton and Bakewell for bigger shops (and pies). We really enjoyed Tideswell’s community spirit as well. The food event obviously helped.  It was a pleasure to find not only an excellent hamper but a cupboard with cooking oil, herbs etc, those things that aren’t needed in large quantities but make a difference to a slow cooked casserole done in the Aga! Another excellent bit of kit to come back to after a day’s soggy walking and to find the meal cooked and waiting! Also those super comfy beds!April, 2016

"The Corner House was everything we hoped it would be and more!  The cottage is beautiful and clean; its historic character has been maintained, and yet it has all the modern conveniences. It is at the very heart of the beautiful village of Tideswell, which is perfectly situated for exploring the Peak District. There are beautiful walks from the village to Monsal Head and beyond to Bakewell. Tideswell is a thriving and lively village with good butchers and bakers shops, restaurant and pubs. Many thanks Nikki and John; we'll be back!" June, 2016

"We had the most wonderful time in Tideswell. The Cornerhouse was just fantastic, but more than that it was the welcome we received from the owners, and the way they presented the house. If I was asked to sum up the, it would be probable the most welcoming place we have stayed at over the last 5 years of holidaying as a foursome. I know this place will become popular, therefore more difficult for us to book, but it just needs sharing with others. Thank you both for the privilege of staying at your lovely house. Yes, we will be back next year." July, 2016

"From our US-based perspective, we were of course dazzled by the original beams and features within the cottage, plus its proximity to the ancient church, and to excellent pubs, shops, and restaurants in Tideswell's quaint streets. We were also very pleasantly surprised by, for instance: the open first floor, perfect for gathering to cook, eat, socialize, plan, and relax; king-size beds in large bedrooms;  modern bathrooms, double glazing, all of the 300-year-old charm plus all of the modern comforts. Activities we especially enjoyed included walks directly from Tideswell, Haddon Hall (quite a different experience than Chatsworth); Peak Rail; wandering around Bakewell and Buxton; the caverns and castle at Castleton; and over in the Sheffield direction, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, and even a shopping mall fix at Meadowhall .Nikki and John welcomed us very warmly with a lot of valuable information on Tideswell and on the Peak District. We loved the welcome hamper. Congratulations to this charming couple on a beautiful cottage restoration which we enjoyed so much, and hope to visit again." August, 2016

"Charm, beauty and comfort describe the cottage and village. The house is comfortable and owners work hard to provide guests with everything they could want or need. Four of us, all ladies stayed, Wonderful kitchen, comfortable beds and a short walk to  every place you need. Locals and bus drivers happy to help, once you experience the buses, it became quite easy to explore this part of England without a car."  May, 2018

"Everything you could want for in a break in lovely Derbyshire, well equipped and close to shops of Tideswell. Upstairs the property is amazingly large ( the beds are good too) and all is comfortable with helpful hosts. This is one on the interesting old houses that you walk past wondering what it is like inside." June, 2018

"We've had a fantastic week, Cottage is great, had everything we needed and more. Fabulous cottage. Faultless and very central. Fantastically comfortable beds and we are fussy! The bedrooms are huge and the whole house has loads of character.  We appreciated the generous welcome hamper. Good weather for most of the week so we used the garden to eat and play board games. Kinder Scout was great for a challenge.  Tideswell is a lovely village with good shops, pubs and cafes and great walking distance from shops.  If you have children the park is great, but most importantly have ice cream. It's delicious! The Litton Loop was a success. Pubs, Red Lion at Litton and The Bull Inn Ashford in the Water." September, 2018

"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. We had such a delightful time at The Cornerhouse and I know all three of us will have memories to last a lifetime. Booked cottage to celebrate our aunts 90th Birthday, who lives in Sheffield.  If we will ever be able to come again, we certainly would stay again. If your new project is anything like The Cornerhouse, it will be incredibly successful." September, 2018

"Cosy, well equipped cottage. There were five of us here for  a short  mid winter break and we found the cottage perfectly set up for such a holiday. Plenty of kindling and logs for the fire , a central heating system that kept the house warm anyway. Friendly pubs and a bistro in the village with easy walking distance. There were good walks in walks in the area." December, 2018
