Walking along Tideswell Dale to Ravenstor

We took advantage of the beautiful sunshine today to stroll for a couple of hours directly from The Cornerhouse Tideswell. Walking behind The Horse and Jockey pub to the leafy trail of Tideswell Dale and along to the stunning rock formation of Ravenstor.

No climbers seen today but evidence here in the metal hooks on the steep rockface!

Lucky, our golden retriever, was interested in paddling in the stream along the way to cool off, with ducks waddling off the stones in the shallow stream. Below you can see the leafy walks and sun shining on the water trickling over stones, such a peaceful scene and great to take the time to enjoy it all.

Stopped to wonder at the amazing wild herbs and flowers on the banks at side of the lanes and in Tideswell Dale and the dry stone walls threading as far as the eye can see.

Stunning views from Millers Dale on return journey across dry stone walls.

Returning along Meadow Lane to High Nelly's cafe in Tideswell for a well deserved cuppa and delicious white chocolate and blueberry cheescake and brownies...scrummy!

Tommorrow off to Buxton to watch the Aviva cycling tour of Britain!
